Dr. Mark L. Sanz
Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, and Interventional Cardiology, Dr. Mark L. Sanz has practiced interventional cardiology and peripheral vascular intervention in Missoula since 1988. He has served as a reviewer for the American Board of Internal Medicine Interventional Cardiology Board Examinations and is a past Montana Governor for the American College of Cardiology (ACC).
Nationally, Dr. Sanz has pursued advocacy and quality initiatives on several ACC committees, including the PAR4 committee, the Quality Strategic Directions Committee, and the Peripheral Artery Disease Committee. Locally, he has led the implementation of innovative new programs, including carotid artery stenting, abdominal aneurysm stent-graft repair, and adherence to ACC GAP MI guidelines at St. Patrick Hospital and Health Sciences Center.
Dr. Sanz’s academic work includes Clinical Instruction for the University of Washington School of Medicine’s Internal Medicine Department, serving as the Principal Investigator on more than 20 clinical research trials, and co-authoring numerous peer-reviewed research articles. With a strong interest in computing, Dr. Sanz has been a leader in local and statewide efforts on telemedicine and electronic medical records.
Away from the office, Dr. Sanz and his wife, Elizabeth Colantuono, enjoy skiing, fishing, camping, and biking with their two children.
